After dark

A warm light for the end of the day.

Dim it low as the evening draws in. The glass softens the light to a gentle amber glow, so the room feels lived in rather than lit.

The blends

Five blends, five times of day.

Each 10ml bottle holds three essential oils, composed for a particular hour of the day. All five come in every Founding Batch set.

The Founding Batch

One thousand sets, made once.

Our first collection will be made in a single Founding Batch of 1,000 numbered sets, and only if every one is ordered. No warehouse of unsold stock, just what is ordered.

  3. All or nothing

    We make the batch only if all 1,000 sets are ordered by the close. If not, every order is refunded in full, to the original payment method.

How the Founding Batch works

Our story

Slow State began with five essential oil blends and a white diffuser beneath handmade glass. We paused for a while and kept the recipes close. Now we’re bringing them back, quieter and more considered.

Slow State is led by its founder, Jerome, who appeared on Dragons’ Den and built a drinks business stocked nationwide in Sainsbury’s before Global Brands acquired a controlling stake.

What’s in a Founding Batch set?

One ultrasonic diffuser with its handmade glass cover, and all five 10ml essential oil blends. Each set is £295, including VAT and UK delivery, and is numbered: No. 1 to No. 1,000.

Will the diffuser and blends be sold separately?

Yes, later. The diffuser will be £175 and each blend £32. Together that comes to £335. The Founding Batch set is £295.

Does joining the waitlist commit me to buying?

No. The waitlist is free. It simply means you hear first, and get early access, when the Founding Batch opens. You can unsubscribe at any time.

What does ‘all or nothing’ mean?

We’ll make 1,000 numbered sets, and only if all 1,000 are ordered by the close on 31 March 2027. If fewer are ordered, nothing is made and every order is refunded in full, to the original payment method, within 14 days of the close. Nothing more is asked of you. If set No. 1,000 is ordered sooner, the Founding Batch closes then.

What does the number on my set mean?

Only 1,000 Founding Batch sets will be made, and each one carries its own number, from No. 1 to No. 1,000. Yours will be marked ‘No. X of 1,000’.

What’s in the blends?

Each blend is made from three essential oils, with no carrier oils: pure essential oil, nothing else. The oils in each blend are listed above. The blends are made for use in the diffuser.

When will my order arrive?

We promise delivery by 31 October 2027, and we’re aiming for September 2027. Production begins once all 1,000 sets are ordered and the Founding Batch closes.

Can I cancel a Founding Batch order?

The full order terms, including cancellation, will be published on the Founding Batch page before orders open on 1 December 2026. Your statutory rights as a UK customer are not affected.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

For now, we plan to deliver within the UK only.
